In this workshop, participants will explore the art of stop motion using coloured string as their primary material. Working individually, attendees will transform string into dynamic animations, mastering techniques and storytelling along the way. Through guided instruction, they will craft unique narratives and characters, showcasing the vast potential of such a simple material.

The session concludes with a showcase of the string animations, celebrating creativity and the art of minimalism.

We will be having a short lunch break during the workshop, so make sure to bring a snack.

Learning outcomes

Participants practise creative problem solving, engineering thinking, testing, iteration and collaboration through a practical hands-on activity.
